To ensure maximum efficiency, each warm water underfloor heating system is designed and installed by our engineers to meet the requirements of your property.

We will design a wet underfloor heating system based on your plans and your needs. This may take into account alternative energy forms such as solar and geothermal as the heat generator.
We can also take into account such aspects as positioning and concealing the underfloor heating manifold. Unlike some off-the-shelf products we were able to design and construct this manifold to fit within this cupboard.

The manifold system is hand built in our workshop and mounted onto a manifold back panel.   Our manifold system includes pump mixing valve, wiring centre, micro centre, manifold temperature controller and relay. Custom built manifolds are available to suit individual site requirements.

Custom Built Underfloor Heating Manifold

The manifold system is hand built in our workshop and mounted onto a manifold back panel. Our manifold system includes pump mixing valve, wiring centre, micro centre, manifold temperature controller and relay. Custom built manifolds are available to suit individual site requirements. We build the manifolds using standard industry components from the likes of Honywell and Drayton.

Why do we use a three port mixing valve and not a wax capsule?

Three port valves are used in the UK for four decades and designed to allow large volumes of water to pass through into the heating system. This is why our systems respond quicker as we can get more volume of water into the floor. The three port mixing valve manufactured by Honeywell and Drayton are controlled electronically using an efficient and responsive control system using a thermistor attached to manifold pipework via a simple worm clip.

Why a worm clip? As practical heating engineers we have given consideration and came up with a simple answer. If there is ever a need to remove this it will not involve the dismantling of the manifold.

Three port mixing valve verses wax capsule. Outlined above are the reasons for favouring three port mixing valves. Wax capsules are widely used for temperature control in potable water systems. Used to control temperatures in showers and wash-hand basins and they are a good safety product for this application. It is our view they do not pass sufficient water flow for a quick response.

You get more out of our systems because we put more in

The Thermotech approach to designing and installing your system is simply “Excellence as Standard”. We do not compromise on the quality of the components or the care taken to install the system. We use brass or stainless steel manifolds, and manifold temperature is controlled electronically to give greater control than a wax capsule thermostat. We use quality PEX or PERT pipe and branded pumps and thermostats, such as Grundfos, Drayton and Honeywell. We use quality valves and fittings by Pegler and Connex.
